Product Development Services

Systems engineering is at the core of the Ascendant Engineering Solutions product development process.

For product development efforts, especially those involving multiple technical disciplines, AES employs a systems engineering approach to develop well-defined requirements and methods of verifying that the end product meets these requirements. Often, the experienced systems engineers at AES help the customer develop their product requirements by identifying, defining, and helping execute design trades very early in the product development process. These trades may be between system performance, cost - both non-recurring engineering (NRE) and unit cost, Size, Weight and Power (SWaP), critical interfaces, and/or other design drivers. Execution of these trades early-on in the process allows the customer to participate in defining the product to best meet their intent, and ensures a deterministic program development process. This process allows flow-down of requirements to the subsystem level, enabling engineers to complete the design within a defined plan - schedule and budget.

Another key role of the systems engineer is simultaneous development of the design verification process in concert with the development of the requirements to ensure the product fully meets the customer's needs. AES designs, implements, and executes test plans to validate the customer's product performance against their requirements.
