Ascendant Engineering Solutions has an unmatched depth of experience in all facets of product design and development. Our combined experience in gyroscopes, measurement systems, micro-circuitry, rugged environment protection, and high speed data transmission allowed us to partner with this customer to develop the product highlighted here. Known as "SwingTIP", it's designed for use as a wireless golf swing analyzer. This complex and compact unit, which mounts directly to the user's gold club, measures 50mm x 18.5mm x 10mm.

AES's years of experience guided product development, which required close collaborative efforts across multiple engineering disciplines. Our single source solution provided this customer with prototypes, a technical data set, and a complete manufacturing package. We also provided structural analysis during mechanical design, which was specific to the intended application, and included high levels of shock and vibration. Testing analysis and post-development was also provided ensuring that the product was environmentally sealed.

The recorded data can be uploaded to a smartphone or computer so that the swing can be recreated and analyzed. The device contains a power switch for phone pairing, an LED indicator light, micro-USB connector for charging, and is water and dust proof to ensure it can hold up to outdoor use. After the design and prototype phase were complete, we continued to provide our customer technical support during the full-scale production ramp up process.
